Compliance Officer (Luxembourg)

About the role

Are you a Compliance Officer looking for an exciting new opportunity? The successful candidate will support the Company in all aspects of Regulatory Compliance and will be based in our Luxembourg office, reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance and MLRO. This is a key role within the Compliance Function at Monument Luxembourg S.A. and would suit a candidate looking to expand their compliance, AML and Financial Crime knowledge.

  • Assist in the execution of the agreed Compliance plan within the agreed timeframes. 
  • Manage third party AML referrals i.e. queries, PEP/sanctions etc..
  • Help to ensure that the Compliance Function remains on track with regulatory and group reporting obligations.
  • Assist in ensuring that Monument Luxembourg S.A. remain in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the management of internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide internal Compliance training as and when required.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Business as and when required. 
  • Participate to the regulatory watch. 
  • Carry out administrative support activities e.g. maintaining compliance trackers, incident and regulatory logs. 
  • Assist in the update and maintenance of Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Support Compliance involvement into acquisition projects, Compliance projects and other initiatives.
  • Assist in the promotion of a positive compliance culture, committed to integrity, trust and ethical conduct.

Role Requirements

Hard skills

  • 2+ years working in a cross-border insurance company.
  • Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Financing of Terrorism and Financial Crime legislation and risk 
  • Sound level of regulatory compliance experience
  • Understanding of the application of legislation with the ability to provide input and advice to the business.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Power-point).

Soft skills

  • Fluent in English (spoken, written, understanding), any other languages such as French, Italian, Spanish or German is considered as an asset.
  • High level of integrity and discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
  • Objective, analytical and lateral thinker with an eye for detail.
  • Attitude for working in team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stakeholder requests with own workloads.
  • Strong report writing competencies with the ability to summarise effectively.
