Financial Analyst – Corporate Finance – Belgium
About the role
Monument Re group has a unique business model that consists in acquiring Life Insurance Businesses in Europe. We have acquired multiple life insurance portfolios and insurance companies over the last years. To support our continuous growth, Monument Belgium is looking for Financial Analyst to reinforce the Belgian financial performance department.
You will have the chance to contribute to the Corporate Finance activities of Monument Belgium. You will be based in our offices in Brussels and will have regular interactions with Local Finance based in Liège and with Group Finance and Investment based in Dublin and London.
Responsibilities
As a financial analyst you will play a vital role in the day-to-day FP&A and corporate finance activities of Monument Belgium, ensuring successful delivery of financial forecasts and financial advisory.
You will report to the Corporate Finance & Performance Lead and your responsibilities will include:
- Establish Annual & Multi-Year statutory forecasts
- Manage Capex files for the real estate portfolio
- Manage Company rentability in line with long term business plans
- Prepare dividend files for the Belgian entities (Real Estate and Insurance)
- Optimize Financial structure of Belgian entities on capital and liquidity
- Collaborate with Investment team in the deployment and steering of asset allocation and rotation activities;
- Prepare Management Committee and Board presentations;
- Act as key Finance contact in transversal/change projects
Role Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses the following skills and attributes:
- Master Degree in the field of Finance, Economics, Or Business Engineering;
- Prior relevant experience between 2-5 years
- A prior experience in the Life Insurance industry is considered a plus;
- Excellent command of English with professional working proficiency of Dutch or French;
- Knowledge of 3-Statement models and financial modelling;
- Understanding of BEGAAP account principles
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with tight deadlines
- Rigorous and ethical professional behaviour
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is a must;
- Team player with ability to work independently;
- High level of enthusiasm, commitment and energy;
- Results-oriented with a problem-solving mentality that enables to deal with short and long-term tasks and projects;
- Good communicator with external and internal stakeholders and colleagues;
