Financial Crime Project Manager – 12-month FTC
About the role
Regulatory compliance is paramount to the Monument Re Group. The Financial Crime Project Manager will lead and deliver a project to support the ongoing development and enhancement of our financial crime prevention framework within the insurance sector and ensure continued alignment with our local and international regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a project related to financial crime prevention, including anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), sanctions compliance, and anti-fraud measures across operations.
- Work closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Operations teams to deliver fit-for-purpose framework and controls tailored to insurance-specific risks and business models.
- Ensure alignment with Isle of Man regulatory obligations, including the AML/CFT Code and Proceeds of Crime legislation, as well as international best practices (e.g. FATF standards).
- Oversee delivery of system enhancements such as customer due diligence (CDD), screening tools, and transaction monitoring solutions relevant to the insurance business.
- Develop and maintain project plans, governance documentation, risk and issue logs, and MI reports for key stakeholders.
- Prepare and present updates to senior management, regulators, and auditors as required.
Role Requirements
- Proven experience in project management within financial services, preferably in the insurance sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial crime compliance frameworks, AML/CTF regulations, and insurance-specific risk exposure.
- Familiarity with the regulatory landscape in the Isle of Man and a good understanding of global financial crime standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
- Project management certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, PMP) are desirable.
- Relevant professional qualifications in financial crime or compliance (e.g. ICA) are a strong advantage.
