Group IT Infrastructure Manager
About the role
Reporting to the Group Head of Infrastructure, the IT Infrastructure Manager is a key role in managing and maintaining the Monument Re Group Infrastructure and Engineering teams across its European locations. The Infrastructure Manager will have responsibility to oversee and manage multiple locations and multiple vendor solutions along with supporting a number of business and IT project implementations.
Responsibilities
- Engage with Key Managed Service providers to maintain and develop a secure, highly available/fault tolerant Infrastructure designed to meet 24/7 Business Operations;
- Manage a dynamic team of individuals, constantly searching for creative ways to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet business needs
- Analyse Infrastructure requirements and dependencies for new projects. Recommend infrastructure solutions and migration strategies compliant with future state enterprise infrastructure;
- Make continuous improvements to ensure the Group infrastructure meets the business needs;
- Ensure the infrastructure team is mitigating, monitoring and managing infrastructure related risks
- Evaluating new server methodologies and technologies as required by business needs, participating in product evaluations, selection criteria, and deployment of emerging technologies;
- Ensuring compliance and adherence to the industry required governance and controls.
- Drive innovation by bringing forward thoughtful & cost-effective Infrastructure solutions;
Role Requirements
- At least 5 years of IT experience including managing technical teams responsible for infrastructure management, design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations;
- Experience in areas such as server design and administration, data centre operations, database administration;
- Relevant industry certifications, Microsoft, Azure, VMWare etc. Exposure to cloud infrastructure a benefit.
- Strong management and people development skills;
- Understanding of ITIL practices;
- Ability to think logically and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Experience of working on Infrastructure Integration projects involving different designs and Vendors;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritise work efficiently and effectively;
- This role would suit a person who is a dynamic team player, who is energetic and passionate with a positive attitude;
- Ideally experienced in Financial Services / Regulated industry.
