IT Senior Developer Individual Life – Brussels – Belgium

About the role

Interested to join a dynamic international Life insurance company? Monument has a unique and successful business model that consists of acquiring Life Insurance Businesses. 
To support our further growth, we are currently looking for a Python IT Developer who will focus on support & operations of our life insurance policy administration software. Able to develop better standard and bring maturity to existing development team. 

Responsibilities

You will report to the Individual Life IT Team Lead and you be involved in designing, building and supporting development in data interfaces and small applications supporting integration and automation of the activities  around one of our core life insurance policy administration software, i.e. UL3 (from software provider Vereycken & Vereycken). 
You will have the following range of responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining automations and interfaces from and to UL3 using mainly Python (with MS office applications, accounting application, ….);
• Bringing design, development, operations expertise in a team that grew from business domains in IT roles.
• Developing and maintaining reporting solutions from UL3 and other applications towards external and internal DBs;
• Ad hoc development of tools supporting the life insurance policy administration and other project work streams in the company.
• Installation of add-ons to UL3 (organizing testing and release management);

Role Requirements

• Strong experience in Software Development Lifecycle & Software (CI/CD) 
• Experience in scripting languages (Python, vbscript, Javascript,…) is required;
• Demonstrated experience in developing solutions around the MS Power platforms to deliver quick-wins and automation solutions
• Ability to architect solutions before build in a robust, performant by design approach.
• Team player, service minded and result oriented.
• Strong algorithmic experience able to build optimised process logic supporting the business needs.
• Dynamic professional with a positive attitude and with proven organizational, time management and communication skills.
• Exposure to Agile/SCRUM framework and use of Jira Software
• Experience in documenting business requirements using BPMN & Use Cases models
• Ability to work effectively in a challenging and demanding environment under tight deadlines as part of a strong and dedicated team
• High degree of integrity, eager to share knowledge, flexible and open-minded
• French proficiency and professional knowledge of English  (Dutch is a plus)
• Knowledge of the UL3 policy management system and his scripting language asQit  is a plus
• Experience with (life) insurance industry applications and/or in the (life) insurance sector is a plus
