IT Team Lead Life Insurance Developers

To support our further growth, we are currently looking for an IT Team Lead who will take in charge the coordination of the IT Life Insurance Analysts/Developers team responsible of IT platform support & operations for UL3, one of our life insurance policy administration software.
Responsibilities
You will report (a.i.) to the Head of IT Belgium and you will lead a local team of IT Life Insurance Analysts involved in designing, building and supporting interfaces, scripts and small applications to integrate and automate the activities of Monument around its core life insurance policy administration software, i.e. UL3.
The role requires broad engagement with the local management team. The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships is critical.
Given Monument’s focus on reinsurance business and life insurance portfolio acquisitions, experience and understanding of the life insurance business is important.
The will have the following range of responsibilities:
- As people manager, you will motivate, coach and take care of the daily functioning of your team; oversee the workload and priority setting and manage the performance, evaluations, training and career development of your team;
- Operate as the Scrum master for IL related projects.
- Lead and support the installation of new UL3 software releases and other local administered software (Isabel, DCL, …);
- Lead and support the installation of add-ons to UL3 (organizing testing and release management);
- Support group IT installations and network;
- Lead and facilitate the developing and maintaining of automations and interfaces from and to UL3 (with MS office applications, accounting application, ….);
- Lead and support the developing and maintaining of reporting tooling from UL3 and other applications towards external and internal DBs, XML, csv, …..;
- Lead and support the developing and maintaining a set of scripting tools;
- Ad hoc development of tools supporting the life insurance policy administration and other project work streams in the company.
Role Requirements
- Min 10 years of experience in (life) insurance industry applications
- Exposure to Software Development Lifecycle & Software Development Management tools is a plus (SDLC/CI-CD); experience in SDLC & Object Oriented Programming (Python, …)
- Proven practical knowledge of Agile / Scrum Framework methodology on Jira & Scrum master.
- Professional knowledge of French/Dutch and English;
- Knowledge of the UL3 policy management system and his scripting language asQit is a plus;
- Dynamic people person with a positive attitude and wit proven organizational, time management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a challenging and demanding environment;
- High degree of integrity, eager to share knowledge, flexible and open-minded;
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask and deliver tasks in a conscientious and timely manner;
