Senior Compliance Officer 12-month FTC
About the role
Regulatory compliance is paramount to the Monument Re Group. The Senior Compliance Officer will work within the Isle of Man Compliance Team to help foster and maintain a sound compliance framework by helping to manage compliance risk and add value through the provision of second line of defence compliance services and support.
You will support in the implementation, oversight, monitoring and adherence to Monument`s compliance policies, processes, systems and controls, reporting requirements, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, whilst maintaining effective working relationships with Senior Management, compliance peers and regional staff.
Responsibilities
- Be a knowledgeable advisor to the business on all compliance, financial crime prevention and data protection related matters;
- Support in the preparation of regulatory reporting, thematic reviews, and correspondence for Group departments and the Isle of Man FSA;
- Support in the remediation of internal, Group and/or regulatory assurance audits;
- Evolve, devise and implement comprehensive compliance programs, including policies, procedures, and controls, to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices;
- Promoting an effective team environment and Monument values;
- To keep up to date on regulatory and industry developments and communicate to management and staff as part of horizon scanning;
- Dealing with compliance referrals, including liaising with management and staff; and
- Reviewing and analysing the results of online screening.
Role Requirements
- Must have experience working in Compliance in the Financial Services industry, preferably with a multi-jurisdictional insurer;
- Technical compliance skills undertaking analysis of regulation and providing input and opinions to Compliance peers, with experience in AML/CFT, CRS/FATCA and Data protection;
- An understanding of, and ability to, identify regulatory risks to the business;
- Excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral;
- Strong IT skills;
- Ability to work independently and under pressure;
- Report writing competencies with the ability to summarise effectively;
- Excellent work ethic, organised and able to meet deadlines;
- Objective, analytical with an eye for detail;
- Seeks to develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers and managers;
- Proactive in helping to identify and implement new or better ways of working;
- An ICA diploma would be advantageous; and
- Based in the Isle of Man office with some home working available.
