Senior Technical Accountant – Luxembourg

This recruitment is central to MASL’s growth strategy and addresses the accounting structural challenges driven by the onboarding of new portfolios. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in mastering technical insurance and investment flows and will actively support the evolution of our department through critical process reviews and improvements. Responsibilities

  • Technical Insurance Accounting: Ensure timely and accurate entry of complex business flows (premiums, claims, commissions) and financial data into the general ledger.
  • Fund Accounting: Drive the operational unit-linked fund processes and accounting in collaboration with outsourced administrators/managers.
  • Investment Accounting: Oversee accounting and reconciliations of the non-linked investment portfolio, supported by outsourced investment accounting and manager.
  • Reconciliation & Analysis: Control consistency between management systems and accounting. Analyze technical suspense accounts in a multi-company environment.
  • Process Optimization: Use technical expertise to identify efficiency and control improvements and actively contribute to the optimization of accounting and reporting processes.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Participate in monthly and annual closings (LuxGAAP), prepare regulatory reports for the Commissariat aux Assurances (CAA), and support external audits.
  • Tax & Fiscal Control: Prepare and control tax and VAT declarations before submission.

Role Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in technical insurance accounting or fund accounting.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Technical skills: Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting standards and tax principles. Insurance and / or financial service experience preferred.
  • Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge of MS Dynamics and/or Anaplan is a significant advantage.
  • Languages: English is mandatory, French is an asset. Any additional language (DE, IT, ES) is a plus.
  • Team Spirit: Ability to collaborate effectively as a team player in a dynamic environment.
  • Organizational Appetite: Strong interest in process structuring and operational efficiency.
  • Hands-on Approach: Proactive mindset with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Integrity: Absolute precision and respect for the confidentiality of sensitive financial data.
